自宅のステンレス流し台には、側面に食器洗い用スポンジを固定しておくプラスチック製のホルダがあります。そこにスポンジを取り付けて、上から水を掛けてみると、スポンジから滴る水が無数のタマとなって、シンクの上を転がる様子が見えます。シンクはすでに水に濡れているので、水滴なんかスグに広がってしまいそうですが、数秒間は消えずに転がっていくのが不思議です。なぜでしょう？((きっと、水滴とシンクの間には、%%薄い空気層が入っているはず%%→小林さんによると、界面活性剤によって水がくるまれているそうです（年吉 2007-02-24）))

Water drips from a spounge make persisting balls of water gliding ont the wet surface of stainless steel sink.  Why are these water drops instantly merge with the water on the sink? ((Plausibly because the drops are wrapped with soap surfactant.))
