It output is an N multiplication of the pea-to-peak input voltage (where N is the number of the capacitors used in the right-hand side of the ladder. See the diagram). This circuits is used to generate an acceleration voltage of SEM (scanning electron microscope) or CTRs (cathode ray tubes).
