「メムザウルス」は当ラボのマスコット・キャラクターです。貼り合わせシリコン基板をＤＲＩＥで加工して製作しました。目の部分は、レーザ走査型画像ディスプレィの静電駆動型の光スキャナと同じ構造をしています。また、舌は共振周波数で動くアクチュエータです。これらのアクチュエータへの配線は、体の部分のウロコを通って足元まで繋がっています。足には金のワイヤボンドが繋がっていて、パッケージから電圧を供給すると動きます。

MEMSAUR is our lab mascot. It is made of silicon processed by the DRIE*1. The MEMSAUR's eye is a MEMS optical scanner driven by the electrostatic force, like an optical scanner used in laser display. Its tong is also an electrostatic actuator that vibrates at a resonant frequency. Electrical interconnections are made by the surface texture scales to its legs, where electrical wirebonds are made.
